The One With the Diary of my Week and MAKING A MURDERER IS BACK!

I am sat with a slight concussion writing this, thanks to hitting myself in the head during a rather nasty tonic-clonic seizure yesterday! No fun! I'm slightly disappointed actually, because Gaz was so worried by this one that he didn't even make any jokes about me doing backflips! I feel a bit crappy so I thought this post could be a bit rambly. I'm not up to writing anything too strenuous so thought I'd give you my diary for the week, which has been eventful as always!

Monday

I was at the dentist having a filling put in. I have gone through so much surgery it was a piece of cake! The poor dentist was worried and asked me “Are you okay? You are very quiet?” With my mouth packed full of cotton wool and a dentistry tool making a strange noise near my head, I said in a garbled voice “I’m fine, quite relaxed actually.” The dentist looked strangely at me and continued to fill my tooth.  As we were going home, Mr. Bright Spark had the idea to go to Bridlington for doggy walks and food. I stupidly agreed and wound up in a lot of pain as I was meant to rest after the dentist. Not our finest idea. However, it did spawn this gem. Gaz took Scarlett to run on the beach whilst I walked along the promenade. Scarlett, halfway down, decided she wanted to get to me. Instead of running around and up the stairs, she did this...

Tuesday

Gareth was at the dentist (can you see a theme here.) He had the moulds done for his dentures. No, Gareth isn’t 78, he is 28 years old. Gareth has a lot of sensory problems relating to his autism, and didn’t do his teeth as often as he should in the past, so he had them taken out, and now he is awaiting dentures. Of course, being the light-hearted and sympathetic person I am, he is currently being called 'Gummy Bear.'

Wednesday

On Wednesday we wear pink. Or something like that. We were meant to relax, instead we ended up clearing out the spare bedroom! It took a total of ten bin bags of clothes I don’t wear and another seven bin bags of junk to finally empty the room. I thought we lost Scarlett at one point, until I heard squeaking from under the bed, and found her with a toy she had found.

Scarlett also got a new toy, which I think she has adopted as a child.

Thursday

Well done Ruth! You absolute star. You genius. Most intelligent person in the world! ... I managed to concuss myself during a seizure. According to Gareth my arm spasmed and I punched myself in the head. Hard. I was out of it all day, until late at night when I got a bath and had some noodles. I now have a rather nice tender bruise under my hairline and am still pretty out of it writing this. I don't envy Gareth having to spell-check and format it!

All told, not my wisest day! Cool polar bear though!

Friday

I went to see my osteopath (who I normally refer to as a physio because a lot of people don't have a clue what osteopaths are) and he thinks that I'm as daft as a brush. On the plus side, he re-aligned my hips last week and they haven't fallen back out of place! That's about the only good news health-wise this week though. He also did some treatment on my back and the back of my head. I even managed not to fall asleep on the bed there today, which is an achievement for me! Then I got to go for fish and chips with my Mum, yay! And Gareth, but that isn't as exciting! Now, my head hurts, so I'm going for a nap once I have finished this. (Note from Gareth - do you know how hard it is to edit/proof with thunderous snoring in the background. Hard. Very. Good job I love her!)

Saturday

I have to have between 16 and 24 injections into trigger points in my back. Which is going to hurt. A lot. I get injected with lidocaine and it helps my back pain for a few weeks. The only downside is it takes a few days to really start working, and those days are not the most pleasant. I will be getting Gareth to take his hot water bottle duties very seriously!

Sunday

My plan. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. (wake to take tablets) Zzzzzzzzzzzzz (eat) Zzzzzzzzzzzz ... repeat.

I was going to end my post there, but just found out.... MAKING A MURDERER IS BACK 19th OCTOBER ON NETFLIX! I'm just a little bit excited. I loved the first series which followed Steven Avery, a man who was wrongly convicted of rape back in the 80’s, and then in 2005 he finally got released. His freedom didn’t last long because he then got arrested for Murder alongside his nephew Brendan Dassey... I won’t say anymore then that, as the series explains it all very well.
Anyways the second series is back on October 19th 2018. This second series follows on from where the first series ended...
Just to give you a quick update. Steven Avery is still trying to get a new trial, and Brendan Dassey was got his sentence overturned in August 2016, but in December 2017 an appeals ruled Brendan Dassey, had to instead continue his sentence...
I can’t wait to see the new series!

What have you been up to this week? Are you all okay? What are you looking forward to seeing?

I just love readin your posts. We are kindred spirits! I don’t have grand mal seizures but the sit and stare kind (for some reason I can not remember the name of them). Oh and memorry problems too. I’ve had my share of those injections too! Now I just have to wait for a new device.
I’m glad you are able to post again. But still take it easy! Keep resting that poor head of yours!
Aww wow, thank you for such a kind comment Cynthia! πŸ’œπŸ’œThe sit and stare ones are called absences or Petit Mal. I am so happy you enjoy reading my posts. We are definitely kindred spirits. I am determined to come and visit you one day! 😊Yeah, the injections suck. We looked into the device you mentioned. My consultant said not a chance because of my immune system. I will push on. Have you been watching any documentaries lately? I am taking it easy lovely. I am mainly resting. My head keeps feeling fuzzy! Haha! 😊🌸xxxx
